Meet Pamela

Pamela Fry is a compassionate, empathetic, and intuitive Art Therapist. Culturally sensitive and committed to continuous learning, Pamela offers client-focused care and gentle, creative inspiration and support.

Pamela's approach to therapy is informed by narrative therapy, principals of expressive arts therapies, neuroscience, and trauma-based practices. In addition, Pamela is training to practice in the context of critical incident response through the Justice Institute of British Columbia. 

Pamela has a lifelong commitment to social justice, and prioritizes access and equity in her practice. She welcomes people from all communities, and strives to continue to learn how to be a better ally to Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. 

Autumn Art Therapy is proud to make a monthly contribution to Indspire, an Indigenous national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada.

 Specializations

Pamela has experience working with many areas of mental health and wellness. Currently, she is providing group art therapy for a residential recovery program, as well as for an immigrant support organization. In addition she has facilitated open studio art therapy sessions for CUPE employees, as well as for grief groups.

In her individual practice, Pamela has supported people with a variety of anxiety-related issues, including trichotillomania, and eating disorders. She has also worked in relationship support, including ENM, separation or divorce, partner-seeking, and parenting.

Pamela coped with anxiety and depression for most of her life. With art therapy and the correct medication,

she lives her life fully and joyfully.​

Additionally, Pamela was widowed at an early age, and parented her young child for many years alone.

 

Pamela also experienced bereavement due to suicide. In recent years, she has worked towards and studied suicide prevention in meaningful ways.

Pamela is also able to provide eco art therapy, which focuses on connecting to the natural world. These sessions may take place in an outdoor setting, but can also be facilitated indoors or online. Please contact Pamela to learn more.
